Earth Day; Dayum This is my Jayum IG Sample

Windows: Open, Hearts: Pumping, Jam: Making its way to you!
It’s a beautiful day to sit with the breeze and think about our planet. While we love to be throwing our windows open, we're also fighting a grief that many of us are sharing right now. Remember seasons? Remember bees? Remember when you could set your clock by cold January winds and April showers?
We do. Don't get us wrong—we're pretty happy to not be bundled up like that kid in A Christmas Story anymore! But there’s still that refrain in our heads: The planet’s dying. Never thought we’d have first row seats to this particular show.
But: Resignation is one of the tools that got us here, so instead of sinking into the pits of despair, we're taking time away from the kitchen today to focus on things we can do right here at home to help. If you'd like to join us in working to be more hands-on in our communities, here's a list of some of the great local groups that are always looking for help!
Richmond Grows Gardens @richmondgrowsgarden
Decriminalize Nature @decrimnaturerva
Enrich Compost @enrichcompost
@ragandbonesrva works to keep bicycle knowledge and maintenance accessible to
everyone, which goes a long way to cutting carbon emissions! They’re always looking
for new volunteers—and bonus points for learning a new skill if you don’t already know
the ins and outs of bike maintenance!
@friendsofeastend works tirelessly to clean up and restore the East End cemetery—a
historic Black cemetery in Henrico, which has been neglected for decades. This is very
hands-on work, removing invasive plant species and trimming back invading roots,
vines, kudzu etc—very direct action, with the two-fold benefit of also being an act of
restorative justice and reparations
And, as always, keep buying local! Happy Earth Day, y'all 💚🌱
